All that's crazy...
Jul. 30th, 2007 11:14 pmseems to suddenly be in my world LOL
The extra person they hired at work has decided to quit. Loverly of her since she decided to quit before the manager comes back. The same manager that's been playing favorites with her because she's the daughter of said manager's best friend.
I don't mind getting the extra hours the next couple of weeks, but I do mind having to work open to close because the assistant manager has a doctor's appointment, and the regional manager, who has been helping, will be out of town...and the extra help has decided that the day before will be her last day.
Oy.
That's going to be a fun day. Spending nearly twelve hours on my feet does not sound too appealing, extra money or not.
And then there's the manager who will be coming back to work on the 13th, a month after her surgery. Now, I have all the sympathy in the world for what she's gone through...but I don't have patience for whining about it. She's a full grown woman, plenty old enough to buck up and take it like an adult. But she doesn't. She whines and talks all pitiful...ugh. And I have to work with her! Sigh.
Of course, she's also whining about having to have another person. She's already asking the regional manager who they're going to hire. The regional told her they aren't going to hire anyone else because we don't need them and they're not going to take away what little hours I get. We'll see how long that lasts. I've been instructed to threaten to get another job if the manager starts up about hiring someone else.
And on top of all that...my poor niece has a stalker. Isn't that just wonderful (enter sarcasm)? Now she has to be escorted out to her car by someone. If I'm closing the same nights she does, Dad and I take her to her car, if not she has to wait for the people she works with at her full time job (she works at two stores in the mall and closes at the part time job).
It's rather unnerving because we've had a rash of weirdos at the mall lately.
We had a man that freaked us all out about a couple of weeks ago (even my assistant manager and she doesn't freak easily...neither do I). He only went into the stores with woman employees and followed us around the store. I felt a chill go down my spine the minute he walked into the store...and that was before I turned around and saw him. He was following me around the store, so I stayed close to my assistant and then finally left to go check on my niece thinking that the guy would leave and try to follow me...he didn't. Then I felt bad because I'd left Evelyn alone. Anyway...he moved on to another store several minutes later.
Then, last week, we had a man expose himself to a young boy in the men's bathroom. How sick people are getting now days. It was called into the police, but by the time they got there...the guy and the boy were both gone. If I'd been the man that witnessed the disgusting piece of trash doing that, I'd have slugged him and then got the boy outta there and been calling the police at the same time. Who knows where that boy went to...
Anyone own a tropical island I could go live on for a while?
